Miragoâne (Miragwann in Haitian Creole) is a port city and commune of Haiti, located in the Nippes department and capital of the Miragoâne arrondissement. The city is located on the northern coast of the Tiburon Peninsula. It’s on the edge of the Gonâve Canal and in particular Miragoâne Bay. One kilometer to the southeast lies Lake Miragoâne, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Haiti.

It is one of Haiti’s main commercial ports. Shipments of manufactured goods from the United States transit through the Miragoâne docks. Haiti has historically exported its coffee, fruit, and timber through this same port.

The port facilities were also used by the American company Reynolds Metals Company, which specialized in aluminum and the export of bauxite, particularly from Haiti. This company left Haitian territory, leaving behind major infrastructure. That includes a deep-water port that replaced the town’s former civilian port in 2010. Beside the main road, the Fond-des-Blancois can also access their commune by secondary roads passing by Bainet or Aquin and Cotes de fer via crossroads 44.
